CVC Capital Partners is actively recruiting talents for its Seoul office as part of efforts to expand its investment activities in the country.

Chris An has recently rejoined CVC from TA Associates, less than a year after he moved to global private equity firm TA Associates, industry sources said on Tuesday.

After graduating from Harvard University, An had joined The Blackstone Group as an analyst in 2012 and moved to CVC in 2015. He then moved to TA Associates and was based in Hong Kong to manage deals in the Korean market.

An returned to CVC in less than a year to take part in the private equity firm, which has been looking for talent in recent months. CVC views Korea as central to its plans in Asia and aims to actively pursue various investment opportunities by establishing a strong pipeline.

In May, CVC appointed Chris Rhee, a former partner of Affinity Equity Partners, as its Seoul office head and global partner. Rhee had worked as a senior consultant at PwC and an executive director of UBS Investment Bank. He joined Hong Kong-based Affinity in 2012.

Eun Chol Cho also joined CVC this spring. Cho holds a master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT and a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. Prior to joining CVC, Cho was a director of the investment team at Hahn & Company.

Jaehan Moon joined the PE firm in July as director of investor relations. Moon, who holds a master’s degree from Boston University, had worked at Samsung Life Insurance and Hanwha Asset Management before joining CVC. (Reporting by Gyoung-tae Kim)
